Homes for Our Troops is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization strongly committed to
helping our service men and women who have selflessly given to their country.
This fantastic organization assists injured service men and women and their
immediate families by raising donations of money, building
materials and professional labor and coordinating the process of
constructing homes for handicapped accessibility. Learn more about Homes for

Homes for Our Troops has located a local Iraqi War Veteran
who needs our help. He is a 25 year old hero named Pisey Tan who hails
from the Olney Section of North Philadelphia. While serving in
the United States Army, Sergeant Tan was deployed twice to Iraq. During
his second deployment with the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment,
Pisey's vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. The injuries
suffered by Pisey forced the eventual amputation of both of his legs.
Currently, he is undergoing intense physical rehabilitation at Walter
Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. His family’s current home is
inadequate as his brother must carry him to the second floor.
A lot was identified to build a home for Pisey in
Ridley Township, Delaware County. We believe that our expertise in 55+
housing puts us in an excellent position to build a house that will meet
Pisey’s needs. In fact, we will be building our Clayton model home from the
Foxfield Development.
Leading us in this endeavor are Captain Robert F.Whalen (USMC(IRR)),
Vice President of Commercial Development, and Lieutenant Commander
Robert (Mac) Bullock (USNR), Land Acquisition Associate. Working
alongside them will be George Hyjurick, Jim Webb,
and the rest of team.
The challenge to build a home for
Sergeant Pisey Tan and his family, and we need your help. We are
asking for your support in the form of donated building materials,
professional labor, and/or funds. All donations are tax deductible.
Construction began on September 11th, 2006. We have
promised our hero that he will be in his new home by Christmas!
Please contact Bobby Whalen at or
484-908-6256 tolet us know how you want to become part of
this very important project.
Very truly yours,
