aWebVisit - Summary

(from 07/May/2000:09:00:29 to 04/Jun/2000:11:21:52)

1. Introduction

aWebVisit extracts visitor information from WWW logfiles. For each visit, your web pages are then classified as an entry, transit, exit and/or hit&run page. The links followed during the visit to your website are classified as incoming, internal, outgoing and/or in&out links. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you will find more detailed explanations in the Help file.

The flow of visitors through your website can be summarised as follows :

Entry Transit Exit Hit&Run --> Entry --> Entry Incoming Incoming Internal Internal Outgoing Outgoing In&Out In&Out Exit --> Exit --> --> Hit&Run --> Hit&Run

Some global web maps are available. Try using aWebVisit-Map for individual page maps...

Total 3208 100.0   120 100.0   1 26.7 395 12.3 /gen_loud.mid

It is worthwhile spending some time on this table. Notice for instance that of the 3208 page visits, 15.6 % are hit & runs. Or that of the 120 different pages on your website, 62.5 % are used as an exit page at least once.

Based on the 326 entries to your website, you can also see that 37.7 % of your visitors use page / to enter your site, and 16.9 % use page /gen_loud.mid right before leaving your website. And the same entry page is also responsible for 10.6 % of the hit & runs.

Total 2032 100.0   776 100.0   1 2.6 116 5.7 / /gen_loud.mid

Interpretation of this table is similar to the one above. Note that redirects by your web server will also appear as links, and that frames will generate links between the main frame and its children.

Since 120 different pages were visited and 776 different links were followed on your website, we can say that visitors usually follow 6.5 links per page. This means that visitors often use the available hyperlinks on your site.
