aWebVisit - Summary

(from 17/Jan/2000:02:17:02 to 04/Jun/2000:05:51:49)

1. Introduction

aWebVisit extracts visitor information from WWW logfiles. For each visit, your web pages are then classified as an entry, transit, exit and/or hit&run page. The links followed during the visit to your website are classified as incoming, internal, outgoing and/or in&out links. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you will find more detailed explanations in the Help file.

The flow of visitors through your website can be summarised as follows :

Entry Transit Exit Hit&Run --> Entry --> Entry Incoming Incoming Internal Internal Outgoing Outgoing In&Out In&Out Exit --> Exit --> --> Hit&Run --> Hit&Run

Some global web maps are available. Try using aWebVisit-Map for individual page maps...

2. Logfile Information

Start date 17/Jan/2000:02:17:02
End date 04/Jun/2000:05:51:49
'Page' hits 1275
'Image' hits 224
Hits from excluded hosts
Skipped entries 0
Valid entries 1499

The 'page' hits represent 85.1 % of all valid hits on your website. The 'image' hits are excluded as specified in the current configuration of aWebVisit. You may want to exclude other types of pages (e.g. RealAudio, counters, ...) in a next run...

This is probably not a large enough sample for statistical analysis. Please use logfiles covering a longer period of time...

3. Visit Information

Visit Type Visit
Count

Total 1275 100.0   27 100.0   1 47.2 669 52.5 /

It is worthwhile spending some time on this table. Notice for instance that of the 1275 page visits, 17.4 % are hit & runs. Or that of the 27 different pages on your website, 44.4 % are used as an exit page at least once.

Based on the 84 entries to your website, you can also see that 81.0 % of your visitors use page / to enter your site, and 33.3 % use the same page right before leaving your website. And the same entry page is also responsible for 51.4 % of the hit & runs.

5. Link Information

The most important link statistics are given in the table below :

Total 206 100.0   53 100.0   1 3.9 35 17.0 / /robots.txt

Interpretation of this table is similar to the one above. Note that redirects by your web server will also appear as links, and that frames will generate links between the main frame and its children.

Since 27 different pages were visited and 53 different links were followed on your website, we can say that visitors usually follow 2.0 links per page. This means that you may not have enough hyperlinks on your site, or that they are hardly ever used.

6. Status Information

Count
Hits

Total   1499 100.0

The 'usual' status codes, i.e. 200 (Okay) and 304 (Not modified), represent 75.9 % of all hits.
The others are examined in more detail here.
