aWebVisit - Summary

(from 17/Jan/2000:08:29:20 to 04/Jun/2000:11:18:19)

1. Introduction

aWebVisit extracts visitor information from WWW logfiles. For each visit, your web pages are then classified as an entry, transit, exit and/or hit&run page. The links followed during the visit to your website are classified as incoming, internal, outgoing and/or in&out links. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you will find more detailed explanations in the Help file.

The flow of visitors through your website can be summarised as follows :

Entry Transit Exit Hit&Run --> Entry --> Entry Incoming Incoming Internal Internal Outgoing Outgoing In&Out In&Out Exit --> Exit --> --> Hit&Run --> Hit&Run

Some global web maps are available. Try using aWebVisit-Map for individual page maps...

2. Logfile Information

The 'page' hits represent 53.2 % of all valid hits on your website. The 'image' hits are excluded as specified in the current configuration of aWebVisit. You do not need to include or exclude other types of pages for the moment...

This is probably not a large enough sample for statistical analysis. Please use logfiles covering a longer period of time...

Total 980 100.0   14 100.0   2 70.0 491 50.1 /

It is worthwhile spending some time on this table. Notice for instance that of the 980 page visits, 23.2 % are hit & runs. Or that of the 14 different pages on your website, 85.7 % are used as an exit page at least once.

Based on the 300 entries to your website, you can also see that 96.3 % of your visitors use page / to enter your site, and 83.7 % use page /requestl.html right before leaving your website. And the same entry page is also responsible for 76.2 % of the hit & runs.

5. Link Information

Total 441 100.0   55 100.0   1 8.0 247 56.0 / /requestl.html

Interpretation of this table is similar to the one above. Note that redirects by your web server will also appear as links, and that frames will generate links between the main frame and its children.

Since 14 different pages were visited and 55 different links were followed on your website, we can say that visitors usually follow 3.9 links per page. This means that visitors do not use many hyperlinks on your site.
